Mr Gladwin Pantastico
Classical Guitar Associate
Gladwin Pantastico earned his Bachelor of Music in Classical Guitar from the University of Santo Tomas Conservatory of Music, where he studied under Professor Ruben F. Reyes. He performed as a member of the UST Guitar Quartet and Ensemble.
During his studies, Gladwin participated in several classical guitar competitions, earning top honours including first prize at the University of the Philippines “Gitara” Competition, awarded by the Spanish Embassy in Manila, and second prize at the Cultural Centre of the Philippines National Music Competition for Young Artists.
As a soloist, he has performed extensively and appeared in international music festivals across the Philippines, Thailand, and Singapore. In Thailand, he has been featured multiple times at the MAV International Music Festival. His notable performances include Castelnuovo-Tedesco’s Concerto in D with the University of the Philippines Chamber Orchestra and Joaquín Rodrigo’s Concerto Madrigal for Two Guitars with the UST Symphony Orchestra.
Gladwin premiered Chiaroscuro, a work for two guitars by Dr. Robert Casteels, alongside classical guitarist Manuel Cabrera II at the Esplanade Recital Studio. He also debuted On Taking Chances, a solo guitar piece by Filipino composer Danny Imson, at the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music Concert Hall.
With extensive teaching experience in Singapore and Thailand, Gladwin has mentored many award-winning students and ABRSM high scorers. He has led music tour programs, offering students opportunities to participate in masterclasses and performances in Europe. He has collaborated with various organisations in Singapore, including the Singapore International Music Festival and charity events with the Tan Tock Seng Community Fund and Arts at KKH.
Mr. Gladwin is currently teaching classical guitar and music theory at Phuket School of Music.
